I've been looking for one of these like forever. I've been watching ebay and ads and such. I have a plastic tank now but been searching for an original metal tank. I opened our local online classifieds and there it was...$10.00. I couldn't believe it. And it's in great shape too. Some old guy had it. Now I just have to clean it out. It's like Christmas for me.

Is it the nastalgia or is there an advantage over plastic, I threw out my original OMC can because it was causing wear on my decks, should have had some coping around the pinch weld at the bottom, wish I had saved it now.

This one is actually the only one I've found here. And I'm really surprised at the price. Normally people want an arm and leg for everything here. Ever think of putting them on ebay or selling them. Guys like me are dying to get something like that. And you hog them all...lol...kidding.

I don't think there is an advantage over plastic but I'm trying to get this boat back to original condition. It took me forever to find a decent steering wheel for. Next spring I'm going back to lounge seats and taking out the originals. I'm also looking for a lower unit for my outboard. There is nothing wrong with mine just want the housing. My skeg is broken near off. I know if I'm patient I will find it.

I have both a metal one just like it and a quicksilver plastic one. I prefer the OMC's venting system.
