EDIT:
Sea trial today and finalized the payment/paperwork. 1994 Bayliner 3055, single 7.4, Bravo II, 514 hours - turn key with the exception of I broke the bathroom faucet (how to fix?) and the shower sump pump needs replacing. Fully loaded minus a gen set. $16K. Planes about 19mph, WOT 30mph per GPS.
This weekend is going to ROCK!

P.S. Got her in the slip, but single engine and my first time... not gonna lie, it took me about 5 mins. Not alot of room in the marina!

IF SOMEONE can tell me how to post pix I will. File size is 97kb and my pictures are like 600kb - what to do?

(original post)
Went looking at cruisers this weekend and found a really nice and clean 1994 Bayliner 3055 Cierra that was priced a little low because it's nearing end of August. Put in an even lower offer and just found out this morning it was accepted!

I opted for a mechanical and hull inspection over a marine survey... and should that go as expected, I will be a boat owner! I picked the marina to have this done at and the seller had no issues with it... a good sign. This boat is CLEAN and has all the indicators of a boat that has more than it's share of TLC by the owner.

Will post pics, price paid, and more once sea trial and inspection have been completed. Anything can go wrong... but my spider sense is telling me this is the real deal... wish me luck!

Re: My offer was accepted! Hooray!

Just got off the phone with the marina mechanic. He asked how much I am paying for her and I said $16K. He said he hasn't been able to find a problem and that her condition was outstanding. :D He told me I could re-sell her for $20K without a problem and that I got a great price.

Pictures coming soon, promise! :)

Re: My offer was accepted! Hooray!

Will post pics may be a week tho, sorry - boat is at lake which is 2 hours away.

Well, I was looking at all kinds of boats for two months and trolling the forums with no login until I thought I knew what I wanted.... which was a Rinker 280 or 300 fiesta Vee 1994-1998 or so. Well, on a whim I was already looking at boats and swung by a boat brokers. I point at the only cruiser on the board within my cash budget and ask to look at her. She's a Bayliner so I'm sure I'm not interested, plus crap all over the boat in the pics, etc... but thought, I don't want to go home yet and why not? Maybe I'll learn something. So he has us follow him to the boat and we get out on the dock and I'm like... uhh, is this it? This seems nice I'm thinking... the more I look the more I realize it's better than the Rinkers and less money. Whole thing is clean and I'd put her up against a *well kept* 2001 and she's a 94... I was like ok what's the catch?
Well, there was no catch. She was just loved and the owner needed her gone before winter rolled in. This boat was so nice and the layout was so good, I put an offer on her that day, which was subject to her checking out mechanically. Well, apparently her innards are as good as her outward appearance. The weird thing is, I don't get it. A mid 1990s Rinker or Sea Ray with issues would cost 2 or 3 times as much, but in reality even though I got her cheap, it was low NADA, so it wasn't crazy low. Yet she's perfect for 2/3 less. Guess what it doesn't do that a Sea Ray does? Nothing! and she's perfect interior and mechanical to boot! Bravo II, merc, a/c, the lot. Oh well, if this is the kind of 30' cruiser I can get at this price, I have no problem owning a "Bayliner" lol!

Don't post pics right to iboats. Their files size limit is rediculously slow. Set up an account on a photo hosting site like photobucket.com and link to them from here.

Re: My offer was accepted! Hooray!

mornin, congrats on the new boat.
I know when we got our 270 sundancer, it was a bit of a learning curve to figure out how to dock it and not take out the other docked boat.
it has twin 260 mercs and have learned some of the tricks when using port or the starboard engines.
in the electrical forum some one hard mounted a electric trolling motor horizontally on the transom, and uses it as a stern thruster, check it out.:)
