I have been reading alot of what everyone has been posting on here and I have been inspired to tell you my story.I also want to say thanks for all of the educating too.So It all started on craigslist the husband found a 1991 bayliner capri for $600.00 can't beat that so we hoped in the car and went to get her.pulled up she was pretty had a few soft spot on the deck but over all was in good shape. So we thought we couldd just tare the old deck up and put a new one in.We got home messed with her a lil bit and she fired right up.So we started googling everything about boats and started to read up on stringers I had know Idea what the hell stringers or bulkheasds were (mind you i'm a women)Little did we know we were way over are heads in wet foam.
and rot so we have been tareing up the floor the pannels and any and everything with wood.So we are so new to all of this and we are on are third day of tearing her apart w=so were probly going to have tons of questions so here is the first question the stringers seem to be pretty sturdy we both can stand on them without them moving or breaking should we replace them? Also we have read up the bayliner capris stringers are filled with foam and incased with fiberglass just wondering if that was a true statement or not. we were going to drill exploratory holes to find out but just thought I should ask first. here is a few pictures of our HELLLLLLLL!!!!!!!!
