My stern drive

Can anyone identify this model of Mercruiser stern drive. I’m thinking it’s pre Alpha.

No such thing as a 'pre-Alpha'.

That is a MerCruiser-1 (MC1 for short) drive shaft housing (upper) and the gear housing (lower) is either an 'R', 'MR' or 'Alpha One'. To determine which gear housing, you need to spilt the drive and look at the top of the lower drive shaft. If it has a spring loaded pin in it, it's an 'R', no pin it's an 'MR' or 'Alpha One'. The only difference between the MR and Alpha One is the name (marketing)...

And it's all mounted to a very very early MC1 transom housing.

Thanks for responding Chris. I was hoping that if I identify the stern drive I’ll be able to tap in on some sort of serial number and/or model number to get a new stern drive trim pump or a valve gasket O ring kit. Getting an engine serial number has proven fruitless for me. The plate I found has no significance to the information bank on the web.
