I bought my used boat back in the fall. I've noticed a piece of foam trim wedged up in where the motor swivels. (see photo) It is in place with a few inches coming out each side. My assumption is that it is just some junk that somehow got in there. I almost pulled it out yesterday and then decided I better ask around first just to be sure. I then thought that maybe it is a piece that should be in the motor somewhere but has gotten out of position. The motor has a rebuilt power head done by Cabelas. (previous owner) Perhaps in their tear down, this came out and got lodged in this position. Then again, maybe it just got picked up in the lake somehow. Can anyone recognize this piece and tell me if it is supposed to be here or elsewhere on the motor?
