Mystery Motor merc 4.5hp

My buddy just picked up a motor got it home ran it some and the impeller shredded !! Ive been trying to help him find some parts for it but we cant make heads or tails of what year it is. Its a mercury 4.5hp but all the decals are gold on it, all the ones ive ever seen have blue decals. The Serial number stamped on it is A105162 which comes up invalid everywheres and doesnt cross to any of the charts ive looked at. he needs to figure out what year it is to get the correct impeller for it.

Serial number 0A105162 is a 1985 MERCURY 4.5 ML. Model number 1005225.

It looks like your going to need to pull out the old impeller and measure the inside diameter, See #25.

how did you determine its an 85 if you dont mind me asking. I looked and the 85's are gold and you got the ml part right, it is a long shaft and i didnt mention that so you obviously got the right year and model. The reason i ask is i put the serial # 0A105162 in at several parts sites and it still comes up invalid so you must have an alternative resource ? anyways i cant wait to tell him i found out what is so he can order some parts, You really helped him out big time, thanks a lot !!
