Mystery pin 1989 Force 50

I changed the water pump impeller in a Force 50 yesterday and found this pin on the driveway this morning. It is not the impeller drive pin. It is rubber coated about 5/8 inch long, 1/8 inch in diameter,. It is slightly smaller on the rubber coated portion than it is on the ends. Both ends show wear from riding on some hard surface.

Yessir, I'm thinking the same thing. I don't know where it's from, but it is not from that Force 50. I guess if it's important to something it will let me know eventually. Thank you for the response.
