This is a 67 80hp speedifour, starboard head has some sort of sensor that has a short length of wire with a connector on the end of it. I'm guessing a water temp switch?
Can I remove it and test it in a pan of water on the stove cause it would be nice to know what temp reacts it. Thnaks.
I'll have to go out and see if it's even removable without having to take the whole head off?

You can remove it to test it but you have to remove the water cover from the cylinder head to do so. The switches rarely fail unless there is a serious overheat.

The switch completes the ground when the temperature reaches around 210 F., causing a warning device such as a horn to sound.

The test is usually done with heated oil, not water.
