I am attempting to restore an old Chrysler that is rotted. Plan to remove the floor, foam, transom and replace. Whats the best way to support my hull to keep it from distorting or even worse ripping open? Also, what would be the best recommendations for replacing the foam?

Pictures would help us help you. Three are a lot of info we need, hull shape, inboard vs outboard, trailer or not and if so, rollers or bunks, etc.

Yes posting pictures with such questions would certainly allow us to see what you see and are dealing with. A lot of folks rebuilding their boats either make extra supports attached to their trailer to support the hull, or make separate cradles to support it. I made a roll around cradle for my tri-hull rebuilding efforts. That way I could also work on the trailer separately and the boat cradle has casters on it to allow me to move it around as needed. You can see them from my links below...

Thanks for the responses. Here's some pics. As you can see it is an outboard. Its not a tri hull so I guess its a v? I am going to go check out the links to the threads posted. Thanks again.

Also, GM and Deepblue, I checked out the threads and I say I am impressed. Great jobs on those projects. When I got this old boat and found the rot, my first thought was to save the motor and scrap the hull. However I could'nt turn off what drew me to this boat. The retro look is so cool. I did a little research about the Lone Star boats. Turns out they were made in Plano Texas. I grew up just 50 miles north of there near Lake Texoma. I just can't let this boat die. Being a small 14' I think it's the perfect boat for my first rebuild. Anyway, when i pulled the rotten floor up and found the foam filled hull, thats when I became worried about distortion. I want to get started, but need some tips on cradle and/or support. Thanks for taking the time to read this and comment.
