Name these parts.......

First of all, let me start by saying I would do better working on my 88' Johnson GT 150 with a 73' Chiltons Pinto manual than the Clymer manual for this motor..

I need to know and a brief explanation of these parts and what exactly they do..


I know this is a primer solenoid, but I do not know its function...

Black box on back of the motor with 2 40amp relays or Fuses.

Primer solenoid= choke, should click with key, supplies extra fuel for cold starts.
Black box=control for tilt and trim, I think.

The primer pump is what you have rather than a choke. Red lever is for operating it manually. As shown it is in the position for electrical operation. By pressing the key in and holding while you crank probably.
