Ok gents. I need your wisdom once again. I got the old dash out, and a great piece of teak waiting to be put in as a replacement. So its time to upgrade. What is the best steering system for the money? Should I use a rack and pinion type, or a rotary gear type? The engine is a 1965 Johnson 75h.p. What kind of problems am I going to have connecting to that motor? Last I would like to keep the shelf in front of the dash so How do I go about mounting the steering column at the original angle?
Thankyou for any and all info!!!!
Dave.

Re: nassau steering system upgrade questions?

I had a Nassau with a 40 HP Evinrude Lark - with the old cable system. I bought a 80 MErc with the Teleflex system. The teleflex was obviously cleaner looking ...but surprisingly not any "tighter" than the cable system.

Bought all the parts off ebay.
