Naugahyde stain

I just opened my Bayliner 195 for the summer and found a huge stain from a green life jacket on the fron passenger seat. This boat is two years old and like new. I tried a stright bleach (very gently) rub and it seemed to lighten a bit but still is a mess on a "white naugahyde" seat. Helpppppppppppppppppppppppp

Any suggestion? Thinking of paint thinner next.

My investigation on internet revealed that using a 10% solution of benzoil peroxide like found in acne products may help to lift stain out. So that is what I am trying. Will let you know how it works.

Thanks

The seat is stained now, but it is still sound. Harsh chemicals might damage the material. UV light will fade the stain. I heard one guy mention he used vaseline on stains.

I don't have a suggestion but as Bilgamesh said DON'T use harsh chemicals. It will kill the life of the vinyl and it will dry out and crack.

Ok, the benzoyl peroxide really works. Leave it on overnight and also in direct sunlight and it lifts the stain. You can get a generic tube of the stuff, 10% solution for $2.99.

I had/have a stain on the seat of my boat from a ski rope handle, well I tried just about everything, now you can hardly see it, the good old sun is taking care of it for me. I'm going to get me some of that Benzoyl Peroxide stuff though, for next time.
