Hi what side would you put the red and green lights if you was looking from the frount of the boat thank you

I learned along time ago that sitting in a boat facing forward that the left side is port because both have 4 letters. Now to remember the correct color is think of port wine which is red.<br /><br />Stupid isn't it but it works.
