The engine number looks like it used to be on the carb, but has faded and is completely gone now. Any other locations to find the engine serial?

Could this be it? It was on the emission control information tag

Serial # 1A32705

I'll check it tomorrow, just dropped it back off at storage. Gotta get ready for work.

Close, you are missing one number and it looks to be at the end.

Also the correct thermostat for this engine model is 160 degrees not 140. If you have closed cooling, you'd need a 170*.

The 160 "kit" number is 807252Q5, http://www.iboats.com/mall/partfind...gd_poid=355388&gd_row=73&session_id=386642515

Well im a big dummy. I typed the serial number wrong its actually Serial# 1A321705

And I want a 140 because im having diesling problems, and only thing I have left is the engine is too hot. So i want to try that

First thing to do is put a water pump kit in the lower unit, with over heating you always start at the bottom and work your way up.

What temp does your gauge say? Dieseling could be something else besides heat.

The gauge reads just over 175.. Im guessing ~180. I have not verified the reading with an infrared gun yet.
