Need 30' pontoons prepped and painted N.J

I recently purchased a 30' suntracker that was only in fresh water, but this spring I will be keeping it in a saltwater slip. I understand that the pontoons should be prepped and painted or corrosion will occur. In the forums I have read about people having their pontoons painted at a reasonable price. The boat is presently stored in Barnegat N.J. but in April I will bring it up to Shark River N.J (Near Belmar Marina). Does anyone know of a place in either Ocean or Monmouth County N.J. that would do this type of work at a reasonable price, (I would do it, but I'm already working three jobs just to pay for this thing) Also, is this a job for a marina, or an auto body shop? Thanks, Mike

Check with your local West Marine or your local marina to see if they know of someone that does this kind of job. A marina or any auto body shop should be able to do the job. I'm a fresh water guy, but this subject has been discussed often on internet pontoon websites. Some boat stores' online website has good info on what kind of paints and primers to use for specific uses.

I would prefer out of the water storage, trailer storage or a boat lift for any aluminum boat left in salt water.

Check with New Jersey Outboards in Bayville, NJ. I recently had a discussion with them in regards to buying a new pontoon from them. I believe they wanted $900 to do a 20 ft boat. As a guide, I just bought a used pontoon in Delaware and the place is to prep and paint 20 ft for $600. On the other hand, a place selling Harris toons at Lake Hopatcong wanted $1600 for 20ft. So somewhere in between is the NJ price. Hope this helps.
