Need A Boat Cover

I just bought a red 2000 Crownline 180BR that has been stored indoors since new. I don't think it will fit in my garage and I don't currently have anyplace to store it except outside. I want to get a good cover that will cover it to protect it from the weather, mostly the sun. I don't need to trailer it with the cover on. Does anybody have a suggestion on the best cover to get and the best place to get it?

Re: Need A Boat Cover

A typical Attwood polyester cover will work fine, and guaranteed 5 years.
They are reinforced wherever threaded(seamed), and available many places.
There's many others more exotic, but if not reinforced where threaded, may leak.

For the winter, I put a tarp over that.

Good luck.

Re: Need A Boat Cover

Well since I wrote that I went out and did some serious measuring and I think I can get the boat in the garage. As long as my wife has no problems with me knocking a hole in the Dining Room wall just big enough to have the outdrive fit through.

No seriously, it looks like the tip of the tounge to the where the prop sticks out is 22'. My garage measure about 21' 10". But there is a work bench that is 40" off the ground where the outdrive might fit underneath. I have to move a table and some shelves to give it a try, but if there is any way to get the boat in there for the winter, the Envoy lost it's spot in the garage.

If it fits it will totally fill up one stall of my three car garage. The two volvo's will definitely be in the other two stalls.

I still want to get a cover though for the summer evern if I can fit it in the garage.
