I boat a 1988 Seaswirl with a cracked block and head because the previous owner did not know much about winterizing. I bought a long block 5.7 and want to do a closed fresh water cooling system. Has anyone out there taken a raw water system and converted to freshwater cooling? Any reputable manufacturers you can recommend?

Re: Need a closed water cooling system

Thanks Don. I will be using the boat almost entirely in Saltwater.

Yeah, with a new long block, that's the time to install one.

I did, I did . . .

"San Juan Engineering" and "SeaKamp" are the prominent aftermarket guys . . . I went with SJE, but they are both fine.

I ordered the kits through Michigan Motorz, like what Don mentioned.

Here is a link to my web page about installing them, etc.

Great job on the write-up of your 7.4L MPI closed cooling system install!
