Just have yours rebuilt. Look in local yellow pages for someone. Make sure the brass drive assembly is not stripped. Check this by holding onto the drive gear while engaging starter motor.

I think it would be cheaper to get a used one. What years/models are compatible?

I assume you checked out the one on Ebay according to the question posted with it? (if it's the right one...grab it, good deal).

Re: Need a Force 50 starter

Force starters are not built as well as the chrysler ones are. I would take it apart and look at what is going on with it. If it is all rusted the rebuild is not worth it. On my chrysler I was able to clean it out with WD40 and qtips then lightly file the brush tips with a slight curve and put it back together and it works like new. I have read probably 80 percent of the force people that take theirs apart find a nasty mess that is not repairable. Do not buy used. Try ebasic for a pretty good aftermarket one.
