I got a rebuilt 5.7 long block from Auto Zone for $1650.00 Has a 5 year warranty. Just make sure it has an M.S. (for Marine Service) at the end of the serial number.

Good Luck.

I don't but my friends have. Once he actually ships it, you're golden. But he's a little to optimistic on his shipping dates and you need to hound him to get it shipped.

has your friend had any problems with the engine? what did he get? i'm looking at the 5.7L that rapidomarine says is 0.30 over with a lifter spring kit making between 300-320hp.

thanks

Re: need a new 5.7L engine

One friend gave up on the runaround, cancelled his order and I believe got a brand new GM engine somewhere. The other sold the boat immediately after the install. So my anecdotal reports are pretty useless.
