Hey y'all just realized my battery charger went kapoot! In your alls opinion what is the beat charger out there for under $100? The only battery Ill be charging is my trolling motor battery which rarely gets used enough to be completely dead. The current battery Im using is an "Everstart marine" 27DC-6, 720 marine cranking, 600 cold cranking, 115 Amp.
Thanks in advance!

I've been using a cheap Everstart from Walmart for 9years with no problem. You can pick your rate, check voltage, pick type of battery, etc. I think I paid about 60 bucks for it.

I'll take a look at my model and send it tomorrow. Not sure if they still make it though. I also have a Minn Kota 2bank on board which is very good. They do make a 1bank for under 100 bucks. You may look into that?

Sorry for the delay---looks like the numbers on the walmart charger are worn off. Sorry.
The onboard is very nice (other than finding a place to mount it) especially when you have two trolling motor batteries stuffed behind two fuel cells--you have to take thinks apart to get them out. With the on board charger-you just plug in the extension cord and your done (once you've hooked it up to your batteries). I have only the two bank because my accessory/starting battery is charged by my outboard. My dad gave me the boat and I don't see how he ever was able to deal with charging batteries. He had an old charger and it took him three days to charge. What a pain.

Explain what you mean by kapoot. Does it not charge? Not hum? How does it act?

I though mine (Everstart automatic) was going bad last year because the charge rate wouldn't get above ~4 amps. Noticed it jumped a couple of times when I wiggled the Neg cable and found a bad crimp on the wire to the clamp.

R&D---found the model (or very similar model) to the charger i have. It is actually a Black & Decker-not an everstart. The model is VEC1095ABD. Hope this helps.

Well I noticed when I hooked up my battery after fishing that the gauge showed my battery was fully charged when I knew it wasn't! I tapped the clamps together and got no spark so im guessing whatever it is that shuts the charger off after charging is complete is stuck but not sure
.Anyways I ordered a new Schumacher charger so hopefully all will be good!
Thanks,
Kurt
