Just purchased a 2006 crownline 202 lpx with a 5.0 liter 270 I/O. Love the boat so far but very depressed about the "out of the hole" speed. I've been slalom skiing for 30 years and have never had a problem getting out of the water, but this boat is so sluggish, I tried 3 times and couldn't get out of the water. In talking to some friends on the dock, they suggested that I need a "hole shot" prop for faster planing speed. I have no idea where to start and don't want to get oversold on some gimmick prop that promises the world but doesn't deliver. Any ideas? Where to start and what should be the range of prices I should expect to pay. I only want to drive my truck to the lake once to pull it out and be done. Thanks for your help in advance.

Re: Need a new prop... HELP!!

Welcome aboard....several Iboats people are happy to help you out here, but in order to do so we will need certain data from you. I cut and pasted the following from the sticky topic at the top of this forum titled: "Read This First!!" You've provided us with 1, 5, and most of 6, but we absolutely must have items 2, 3, and 4...

ESSENTIAL DATA REQUIRED
When posting a question about propellers, you cannot get a reasonable answer unless you provide the following information in your post: Items 1-4 are essential for meaningful response to most questions.
1) Performance issue you are trying to correct.
2) Current prop manufacturer, model, aluminum or stainless as a minimum.
3) Current prop diameter and pitch (required).
4) Wide open throttle RPM and speed with an average load (very helpful)
5) Engine/drive make, model, year, and HP
