Hi folks, I was wondering if you could help recommend a prop for me. I've answered as much as i can below, let me know if there's anything else I can add to help. Thanks so much in advance.

Iboats Boat and Motor Info

1. Year, make and model of boat
95 Sea Nymph 14R

2. Length, width and base weight of boat, look for boat decal on back of boat
13.5ft, 62'' beam, 175lbs base weight

3. Number of people and gallons of gas normally on boat
2 people, 5 gallon usually 1/2 full. also 2 batteries, full floor and bowmount trolling motor. boat is probably 475lbs with gear, motor and gas not including persons.

4. What do you use the boat for
Fishing

5. Is it a Deep Vee and if so how many degrees of deadrise
Deep V

6. Year, make and model of motor
Johnson (made by Suzuki) 15hp 4 stroke

7. HP and gear ratio of motor IMPORTANT
15HP - 1.92:1

7A If you have a mercruiser and don?t know the ratio get your serial off the outdrive and go here http://www.sterndrives.com/mercruisersterndrives.html

8. Manufacturer?s recommended WOT range
5400-6000

9. Anti-ventilation Plate height above keel of boat if it is an outboard in inches
About Level

10. Is it a bass boat or does it have a pad bottom
No

11. Does it have a hydrafoil or trim tabs
No

12. Make, model, diameter, pitch and whether SS or aluminum prop
Stock 9 1/4 X 9 Aluminum

13. WOT RPM and speed from your current prop and how much gas and how many people were in the boat for the test data
5600RPM@17.5mph with 2 people and 1/2 of a 5 gallon tank of gas. Almost always have 2 people, have a tach so if 1 person I could keep RPM's safe.

6050RPM@21mph with 1 person same gear as above

14. Are you at sea level, or a much higher elevation
Around sea level

15. What problems are you trying to cure or what are you looking for the boat to do that it is not doing the way you think it should or to your expectations

Would like a bit more top end and holeshot if possible. Seems to run pretty good now but want to optimize the motor for the boat.

Just wondering if someone can help me with deciding on a new prop. Is hwsii still around I remember he was helping folks as well as creating a database for different setups.

I don't think your boat is a deep V at most probably a modified V A true deep V
has a higher number deadrise all the way to the stern.
I think your doing pretty well for the load. You could raise the motor to a point just before venting becomes a problemm. If you could gain about 2 inches you might get a mph or so with a slight improvement in hole shot.Eliminate any weight you can.
Weight distribution is critical.moving weight from the stern to the mid point or bow should help.
Believe it or not a large 14 or even a 16 with minimul additions, floor etc.could be faster. When we went from a bare 15 to a bare 18 utility with the same 25 we went from barely planing with 4 adults to planing easily with 6 adults. And that 18 felt like
an ocean liner. You would be surprised how much bigger a large 14 can be.
The larger footprint helps the boat get up on the water.

Thanks for the reply. I'll see what I can do for weight reduction. I'm pretty close to venting already I gave that a try last year.

Just wondering if I went to a 4 blade and smaller pitch if it'll get my loaded boat into the 6000 range and give me what I'm looking for? Not sure what pitch to choose with the 4 blade though.

7 or 8 inch pitch would be what I'd be looking at?

Usually hole shot and top end don't go together.
There is a 4 blade 8" Solas Amita for your motor
will definately get you up quicker, stay on plane with less power
will allow more height.
but probably will reduce top end.You might try a pm to hwsiii but let us see the results please for future reference.

Simply, sorry I have been very busy with the oil spill down here and I haven't had much free time.

Spike is 100% right you need to order the Solas Amita 8" pitch aluminum 4 blade prop that he recommended, your prop slip is very high even with just one person on board.

You will not lose any speed as your effective prop pitch right now is only 7" and the extra thrust you will attain with the Solas will make you very happy.

hwsii, hats off to you helping out with the cleanup. It saddens me that this wasn't stopped months ago...I suspect so they could have access to the oil again :(

Just so I know, going with a 7'' 3 or 4 blade will put it too high in the RPM's? I'm curious how the 4'' prop affects RPM...is it like 100RPM less on an equivalent pitch?

Thanks for your input, if I get the 4 blade will be sure to post results.
