Im looking at getting a kneeboard. Ive kneeboarded all my life but never actually owned one.

What i do know is i prefer kneeboards without fins.

Im 6'2 and about 255. Im wondering if they make different size kneeboards or if any are recommended for heavy guys?

Ive noticed the biggest problem ive had is the strap not being long enough. Do any of these companies come with or sell longer straps?

Thanks in advance for any input.

I would advise you find a compression molded one, versus the hollow foam filled hydroslide. After years of just using a hydroslide, and having a blast, I stepped up to an O'Brien Ricochet and that think flies through the air like a jet airliner!

I have never seen different sizes of the same board. I do think the more advanced boards look a little bigger.

I ride a HO Joker and love it, my brother in law has an obrien lowrider which is also a nice board. A friend of the family a few years back had a board that the strap wasn't long enough to hold tightly when he rode it so he had a "loop" made by a canvas shop out of 3" webbing. He took the strap off the board, took it to the canvas shop had them thread the webbing through the strap end and stitch it into a loop(probably 12'' long piece to net him an extra 6" on the strap) then took it home and attached it to the board. He had to get another board for his family as once he did this it was too long for everyone else so there is a downside to makeing it non removeable. If you had one made up with velcro on each half you could take it on and off.

The thinner ones are the ones I think I was referring to when I said compression molded.

My only kneeboard which the parents donated to charity while I was at college had the greatest bindings ever. I bought scuba weight belt webbing and used two of the belt clips at each end. That sucker did not let go until you wanted it to let go. You had a clip at each side of the kneeboard you could grab to exit the board.

I bought something like this, but used to clasps (http://www.diversdirect.com/scuba-diving/divers-nylon-weight-belt/ )
