I don’t think the impeller has ever been changed on my 98’ Sea Ray 270 DA with 400 hours. Bravo II outrive. It has the 7.4l with MPI.

I am not sure if I want to wait for haul out in the fall or tackle it now. Either way I want to order the impeller & housing now in case it does need replacing in a hurry. I am very diligent about watching the temp gauge. Reads about 180 when warmed up.

I see that there are two types of housings for this engine a one piece and two piece housing. Is there an easy way to tell while the pump is still on the engine??

Can I tell from the engine S/N to order the right parts? I am guessing that OEM is the way to go vs. Sierra.

Engine S/N is 0L061511 and Transom S/N is 0L260750 if that helps.

14 years old, 400 hours and you think the impeller has never been changed? That's amazing if it truly is the original.

You have the same boat/package as me and even though mine is 3 years newer, our serial numbers fall in the same range.

The 2 piece design was replaced by the 1 piece and the 2 piece is nla.

Yes, you should (like I did when I replaced mine for the first time after buying the boat) replace with the full oem kit part number 46-807151A14 for as little as around $65 depending on where you buy.

Here's a couple of links where you can see the difference in the 2 designs.
