NEED ADVICE ON POWER TRIM&TILT

THIS IS AFRIST FOR ME AND I WELCOME YOUR INPUT. MY POWER TRIM & TILT UNIT WILL MAKE ALL THE SOUNDS THAT IT WORKS, BUT MOTOR WILL NOT COME UP OR DOWN.I TOPPED THE FLUID LEVELS AT THE BEGINNING OF THE SEASON SO IT HAD FLUIDS.I HAVE HAD THIS UNIT NOW FOR SOME 10 YEARS W/NO PROBLEMS.NEED YOUR COMMENTS AND COST TO REPAIR.<br /> TIGHT LINES<br /> SKINNY DUGAN

Skinny,<br /><br />Please turn off your CAPS LOCK. Capitals are considered SHOUTING on the web.<br /><br />If your hydraulic pump is actually running but the tilt-cylinders are not moving, either the pump does not pump the oil or it pumps but does not produce sufficient pressure.<br /><br />After 10 years of service a manual would come in very handy for general maintenance and future repairs. Can even be bought from this site (link bottom).

If you had to top the res off...there is a problem with a leak. It is most likely one of the orings on the Pump manifold that has blown thru.<br /><br />TMD

I am trying to fix mine and it ran as yours and wouldnt lift or lower. I had a shop look at it and tell me the pump is bad and one ram. So i found rancho marine sells used parts less than half retail and they are at boatrecycling.com
