Are the prices they post just for the boat? If so I should also look at the prices for the trailer and motor, Right?

The boat I am looking at is still waiting to be evaluated by the shop, holiday weekend coming up they are BUSY

I am looking at alternatives in case the motor is not repairable. I like the boat, it is the right size for my Jeep to pull (95 sailfish 176cc) and it is in great condition (per the dealer)

That said I would be looking at a replacement motor (115 HP) for 8 to 10K. currently I am looking at the boat trailer and motor for 3800.00

If the motor is shot what would be a fair offer for the boat and trailer.

No.
Its a buyers market. You tell them what your willing to pay. :).
They we either take it or counter offer.
The name of game NOW is to low ball the seller.. :)

I wouldn't get real excited about what a dealer tells you unless you really, really trust him.

The boat/trailer aren't worth anywhere near $3800 unless the boat is really tricked out. It might be worth the asking if the motor is functional. In this market, either bargain for the boat/trailer, or bargain for the package with a fully functioning motor. You're gonna get hosed if you pay for a motor that needs repairs.

Bottom line, a boat is only worth what a willing buyer will pay a willing seller ...
