need answer quick???????????????

what is wrong with this 12.9 chrysler outboard motor???

no spark on the plugs, i took flywheel out , cleaned corroded points plus clean surface of coil to flywheel but still no sparks???

what could be wrong?

anybody??????????????

Point gap at .020? Condensers shorted? magneto coils shorted? Plug wires broken? Missing ground wire from magneto carrier plate to engine block? Stop switch (if present) shorted or wires to it shorted?

Does it have a condenser with the coil? Both wont be bad. I had 1 coil,1 condenser, one on one ....

2 coils , 2 condenser, 2 plugs, 2 points

which one is bad? checked points , coils, plugs, condensers all ok?

Get an in-line spark checker from Harbor freight. Less than 10 bucks. This will let you see the spark situation under compression. Old magneto coils are a problem as they break down and will not support a spark. Condensors are next in line...
