Need Bilge with inlet hose??

I have a hydra sports x-270 and need a bilge pump with an inlet hose, I can't get a regular bilge pump into the bottom of the boat. The bilge pump that was in it was a livewell pump with a hose attached to the plastic fitting that would normally go thru the hull. But it does not create enough suction to draw the water from the bottom of the boat. Right now I have a regular bilge pump setting as close as I can get it to the bottom of the boat, but the boat would have to have 9 inches of water in it before it would pick-up anything...... Does anyone make a bilge pump that would fix me up???
Thanks

Live well and bilge pumps generally require that the inlet be at water level or below since they are not self priming. Neither pump will likely draw water at 9-inches above water level. Your best bet is to make whatever modifications are necessary to get a standard bilge pump down to the bottom of the hull. Perhaps there are some positive displacement pumps that would work but they would be expensive.

nine inches of water in a space narrower than any bilge pumps - might not be very much water..........what are the dimensions, and what kind of structure is there making it such a small space? stringers? bulkheads? compartment walls? just trying to visualize your space...........

It is the bottom of the hull, but no access to it, just the design of the boat.I can barely slide my hand down into it. I don't know how to gain access unless I cut a hole, maybe where the batteries set and then will be able to acces it. It is really a strange design, anyone with a hydrosport would know what I am talking about, but if you haven't seen one it is difficult to understand. I am going to look into figuring out a way to make an access hole to it. I didn't know bilge pumps/livewell pumps had to be at water level.
Thanks for the replies.
