I have a 1989 Marathon that I have restored and really like a lot. There is, however, an issue that has been plaguing me for years that I finally want to fix.

In my Pulpit there is a low spot. It has always been a trap for water and a constant source of annoyance for me. Now that I"ve recovered the deck in nice rubberized non slip paint, and the water trap has stained it. I've reached my limit of patience. Something must be done.

Should I install a scupper in the low spot and let it drain out the side of the bow?
I have wanted to install an electric winch for the anchor, but have my doubts since I would like it to go where the low spot is.

I am open to all advice, pictures, support and assistance with this issue.

thanks

Either needs a drain or build the area up at a slant so water runs out

From the looks there might have been a option for a windless

I want to thank you for the reply. Just to let you know, I've decided to just put in a simple deck drain and let it scupper out the side of the hull. I have lots of clearance so no fear of water getting in the boat.

I also decided to put in an anchor winch at the front of the pulpit. So anyone wanting to fish from the pulpit will be able to.

Thanks again.
