Need Driveshaft 4.3 merc. 1990 model

well i am giving up on getting the rusty shaft out of the coupler and I am about to take a saw to it cause I am ready to get the motor out. Does anybody have or know where I can get a driveshaft to replace the one I am about to cut in half. Need to know what kind of $$$ I am looking at for this thing. Its a 1990 boat and it looks like and Alpha ONe or an MR drive with a 4.3 engine. Also need the coupler to go along with it. THanks.

Not sure what drive shaft you are looking for, are you looking for the one that is attached to the sterndrive via a U-joint that goes into the coupler???<br /><br />Tallman

Yes, its the shaft that runs from the U-joint, through the gimbal bearing and into the coupler on the back of the engine.

You SHOULD try the Sponsor of this board 1st.....<br />OR, NAPA auto parts... #18-2175.. Coupler,+ Shaft Kit... $291.89 list....$188.19 If you're Good Friends with your parts guy....<br />OR, They can be often found on ebay...
