I was recently given a '71 Crestliner tri-hull and while it is currently a beater I plan on a restoration. But, first, I would like to take care of all the mechanical issues. It is all original with an Evinrude 50hp outboard that I was able to get running with a fresh tank of fuel, battery and starter solenoid. It does have a gearcase issue with water in the oil so I will be installing a new seal kit. The engine controls are electric and while it shifts forward and reverse OK the controls have seen much better days after spending a good portion of its life in saltwater. I am looking for recommendations on a new control that is compatible with Evinrude and the electric shifting. A NOS control would be best but I doubt they are to be had.

Your best bet is to look for a good used set that is in good shape, I would look on ebay or start searching through Craigslist, they are not all that rare and you might have to do some restoration work on anything you find.
