Hi all.. New here. I just put a boat together for a gang of kids on Lake George (NY). I've been eyeballing this boat for several years and without the support of my wife and kids, I went to the outside; my friend has 5 boys (age 8-16).
!4 foot FD, year unknown. Front deck, cross deck moved forward and stb side helm attached at rear. Bought a 70's 20 hp Evenrude and new steering cables. Put it all together and tested over the weekend. Smiles across the board (including me!!). The boat boogies, banks great, turns hard; really fun and quite happy with bringing this boat back to life.
The steering wheel is discinegratined and rubs off black on your hands. What are my options? What type hub? How about a good old Grant 3 spoke with the holes in the spokes... you know.
