I have hit a bit of a snag on my restore. I have drilled the rub rail and separated the transom. Going to pull the cap and the floor seems to be glued to the sub-floor. The cap and floor are all one piece of fiberglass. Here are the choices I see that I have.

A. Try wedging the floor as pressure is applied to a lift system with chisels and pry bars.

B. Cut the fiberglass floor around the edge and try to salvage it and put it back together with the cap.

C. Cut the floor, when the cap is replaced, fiberglass a new floor on top of the sub-floor.

D. Do something that a pro on here suggest.

E. Use five gallons of diesel and a match on it.

All advise is very much appreciated!!!!

Where you can,try a heat gun while wedging the joint. For blind joints a line of drill holes might break the seam. You would have to fill the holes later.
If you go with E, pleas post video.

Make and Model of boat would be a nice place to start. Someone with one like yours might be able to tell you what they did in the same situation but not knowing what the boat is makes it a little difficult.

I'm just sayin...:D

So that brings up another question. Why did you start another thread. Have you read the Sticky at the Start of the Forum? If NOT you should do so.

http://forums.iboats.com/showthread.php?t=425485

It makes it difficult to follow if you start multiple threads.

I'm just sayin...:D

I started another thread because no one has yet to answer any of the other questions I have posted on there. I figured they would leave that alone for me to post my pics and progress in and to think out loud.
