VRO systems on motors do not require any special maintenance. Every season I siphon a qt of oil off the the bottom of the oil reservoir to remove any residual water or dirt, but that's is about it. After I remove the dirt, I refill with the cleaned oil. Newer VRS systems are better than the older ones. What year motor are you looking at?

Here is the one that I started when I bought mine a couple months ago. I love mine and am glad I decided to keep it. A lot or the guys that talk them down are the guys that forget to fill the reservoir up so be mindful of that. And with all motor don't use off brand oil, I only use Valvoline or Johnson/Evinrude 2 stroke oil and mine run great.

Here is a good tip............

The forum is NOT set up to allow 3 letter searches such as VRO however here is a great way to search.....

Go to google and in the search box type in iboats:vro Google will deliver the results. :)

Try it.
