Hello everyone. I just picked up a pontoon equiped with a 2001 40 ELPT mercury. When I purchased and tested the boat it would not run wide open once it got over 1/2 throttle it would bog down. If I pushed in the choke it would take off. I assumed the carbs were gumed up because the boat has done nothing but sat most of its life. I then brought the boat home took apart the carbs and cleaned out the junk. There was a little but nothing to bad. I did not get a kit just a break down cleaned with cleaner and reassemble. I blew out with copressor and put back together. When I crank it up and it seems to idle a little rough and too high RPM's. I am messed with the fuel air mix and nothing seems to help. Does anyone know how to set it or could you possible post the manual for the carb rebuild and settings. I am going to the lake monday to test out and I am leaving Friday for a 4 days fishing trip and I need the boat working 100%. Also what rmp should the enigne idle in and out of gear. ANy help or insight will be greatly appericted. Thanks.
