hi,

I am about to buy a 2004 used carver 39.6 foot boat and i and i have a yachtline delux digney thats 12.6 feet long with a 40 hp engine also. But the new carver has a 13.11 beam and i need to get a hydraulic swim platform to hold my 12.6 foot dingey. The thing is im not sure if a Tnt or a poseidon hydraulic swim plat form will fit on the carver. not to mention the diney fitting on the platform. So what im trying to get at is can a tnt or poseidon hydraulic swim platform fit and accomidate my dingey?and will the swim platform with the dingey push down my 31000 pound boat and make it float uneven? If one of those can't fit can you please tell me a good hydraulic swim platform for that will fit all my needs. i need it to look good.

thx i will really really appreciate it:)

Re: need help about can a carver have a hydraulic swim platform?

Hi, Stay away from TNT Platforms. I installed on on my 450 Voyager and it pulled through the transom and almost sunk the boat. The company refuses any responsiblity, saying it is an owner/operator issue, but cannot say what it is that was done to cause the problem, other than poor design and installation. I had them inspect my boat, design and install the platform and paid them $23,000 for it. First time I used the boat on an extended trip from Palmetto Florida to the Keys is when it happened. Basically, the mounting plates, which were 8"by8" pulled through the transom. The platform worked fine until it pulled through the transom, after addressing issues with the installation at the beginning. They have been easily the worst company I have ever dealt with during my 60 years. I have the platform, and all of the hydraulic equipment etc which I can sell to you cheaply. You then need a good boat yard which can make sure the installation is proper, with proper reimforcing on the transom to hold the weight involved. My position is because the platform was canterlievered out past the existing fixed swim platform, they failed to consider the additional weight and stress caused by the extended configuration, which caused the mounting plates to pull through. If the plates had been much larger and the transom reimforced from behind to support the additional weight, it probably would have worked. Call me at 407-691-0500 if you want more information, or would like to see pictures of the platform mounted and in use.
