I'm new to boats and I'm trying to repair dads old boat, as he has passed away a few years ago.

Does anyone have info on the engine side drive shaft bearing and seal for my V177 I/O.

Thanks,
Joey@TE

To help you in the right direction we need to know what you have there.
The 177 or Swinger had some drive options; 120, 130, 140, 155, mercruiser, omc and volvo drive. Do you know what year 1970-1972
Good luck!

Hey Frank, it's a 72 Volvo drive(straight 6 with three carbs). We have the whole back end pulled apart, but the tail housing will not come off. Do we have to pull the engine and get the bearing from the bell housing side? I hope not......

Thanks in advance!

There goes your hope,
After removing the drive you can see 6 bolts #41 in a round pattern that have to be removed to take the engine out together with the primary drive shaft housing.
Good luck!

I was afraid of that....... :(

So, once the engine is out, just remove the bell housing and it should be a piece of cake after that, right? LOL

I think I would rather work on my old Powerstroke...

Thank you so much for your advice.
