Do you plan on having it deployed while fishing? If so, then I'd stick to the 5' or shorter. Otherwise, I'd go with the 6'.

Your stuck with 6' or 8' unless it's custom made (including frame). Anything over 6' in that sized boat will be a hinderence for any activity except riding ...

6' would give plenty of shade and look good too.

Umm...I'm pretty sure that 5' is a length available from multiple vendors without being "custom made". I was just looking at a few to verify this, and I was able to find 5' biminis in many heights and widths.

Re: Need help choosing bimini length

Just installed ours on our 20' openbow - LOVE IT!

Ordered the 6' from iboats and it is the perfect size - and we got a great deal and free shipping. We ordered the taller size so we could still fish off the back of the boat - my husband wanted to make sure we could walk under it. 6' mounted high is great - if you mount it low - you will get more shade.

I posted a thread about sharkskin vs sunbrealla - and I am glad we got the sunbrella.

I agree - anything over 6' would be a hinderance.

6 ft will be a very good choice on that size of boat...:)
