I have a mercruiser 898 with a Alpha one 5.0 litre LX outdrive.

The engine interrupter switch needs to be replaced. According to the order chart, I need a 864363A Kit.

Opinions if it is the correct order?

It looks like you have chosen the right one, only thing that I don't see is what is your serial number

My wife and I looked near the starter, the flywheel, could not locate the serial number plate?

If you look at your posting they all have the same part number, only difference is if note 2 applies

That was what I was thinking. It seems like with boats there always seems to be the caveat....yes that will work, but....

is the carb and ign system marine rated.?
The oem switch is NO, closes when tripped, is the new one the same type or NC and opens when tripped. The original grounds the ign coils neg side. If the new switch is NC and opens when tripped it must be wired in series with the coils positive side to kill power to the coil by removing the 12 volts.
