Jump from + of your battery to the large cable that goes from the solenoid to the starter itself. If that turns your motor, then your solenoid is probably tired, or connections to it are poor.

Use a heavy gauge cable (booster cable) to make the jump.

....or a faster way; put a large metal (wrench) short across the 2 large terminals on you solenoid. Same thing. Careful not to touch anything else there now! Wear some leather gloves. Expect to be startled by a bit of spark as there are lots of amps if your battery is good. Your welding now, so just do it for a second to see if she turns.

Have fun

The most common cause of your symptoms is corrosion in the connection of the battery ground cable to the engine. Looking good and being tight are not enough, take it (and all other connections of both battery cables) off, scrub shiny and reconnect.

Second is failure in the cables themselves. . .internal corrosion.

If you want to jump the starter be sure to use both jumper cables. Positive to the starter stud, minus to the engine block.

Good luck. :)
