need help finding a longblock

Hello All. I am in Nevada.
I just picked up a 1983 230 scorpion chris craft,
the motor is GM 5.7 and it has an aftermarket drive by STERNDRIVE ENGINEERING.
But i can see there is a bulge and crack in the left side of the block. I'm thinking that buying along block would be the safest and most economical way to get her up and running.
Any comments on that?

I would like to know where to buy a reputable MARINE rebuild and / or should I just get a new one and where.:D

Re: need help finding a longblock

Do you know where the engine Number is so that I may get it correctly identified

Ayuh,... If it's the Mercruiser original, It'll be on a tag riveted to the block, just ahead of the starter...
If not,..
You already know it's a 350(nice edit btw)...
It Should be a 2 piece rear main block if it's an 83....
And,..
If you check the starter bolt pattern, you'll know which flywheel is on it...
