Need help finding info on 65hp Johnson

Iam trying to find out the year and info on my 65hp johnson there are no tags or stickers on the motor, the only thing iam able to find is the number off the top of the frost plug (13835184) if anyone can help!!

no help. it may be the serial number, as they quit putting model #s on the more resent one. have to check with a dealer, not published.

That must be a pretty old one, according to the serial number. Is it a V4 cylinder? If so, that was only made as a 65hp one year, 1968. Would be a model VX-14 if that is what you have.

The next 65hp to appear would be the 3 cylinder looper. Came on the scene in 1972 as model 65ES72/ESL72 Carry-over for 1973 would be 65ES73/65ESL73 There were also ESLR models. Not sure what that was (Stinger??)

1974 the hp was increased to 70

Its a three cyl, its on a 1971 glastron and it doesnt say anything about being a stinger on the cowling.
