"Need help" finding right Ignition Module

i have my engine #, have called 3 marine shops got 3 diff module parts #, I called sevel suppliers and two of them tell me my 5.7 did not come with a
4 Barl carb. ( Merc did not make my engine with a 4 barl carb) it did. its the org engine and carb...... plz help My engine # is 0B791916

Post your engine number and im sure someone can id your module for you

is module mounted on the distributor or the exhaust elbow?

its on the exhaust elbow. its riveted to the plate not screwed on

I should have asked this beefore but is it a thundrbolt 4 system? if so I think it is #805361T6

no prob. it is a thunderbolt 4 ignition. one supplier gave me the part # 80536T4 but that one is a distrb mount. i will look at the T6

I found one on Ebay listing number 400042030477. take a look at it and see if that is it.

just looked at the T 6 it allso is a dist mount. can it be mounted on the plate on riser? they look just like mine except without the baseplate mine is riveted to. if it would work i'd bolt it to my plate, but not sure. ive heard most are close and would work but the curve may be diff. does it matter that much?

Hmmm on the ebay listing it says riser mount. I trust those guys I have bought many parts from them. On the listing it has a phone number for them also.

just looked at it again and it does say riser mount. i will try calling them again tomar and check with them. I tried today but got a busy signal every time i called today

yes , i did get it and have maked it in fav for easy access. i would like to thank you very much for your time and help. i think the T 6 is the one im looking for. again thank you

Keep in mind that Mercruiser just loves to superceed their part numbers. When you ask for a part number using your merc. serial number, always ask if the part number superceeds.

LOL yes, i found that out today in my many calls i guess u can say i learned the hard way. and half of the ones thay told me was the one are no longer avail. Just hope this is the one
