Funny story........
Upon starting my restoration/repair on my 12' gamefisher tri-hull I found that my transom was rotted so I came on here, found a transom repair video, and bolstered with new found information went out and started cutting. On the video, the transom was double walled with an inside and outside wherein if you cut the inside around the parameter and then remove all the rotten wood, cut new wood, resin and glass it in.
In actuality, my transom was double walled 1/2 of the way down, the rest was single so I cut through the bottom half making a nice cutting disk thickness slice that looks like a crooked smiley face........ not good.
Now, how do I fix it? do I cut it out some, chanfer it and glass it or do I just leave it the skinny little cut that it is, chanfer, and glass it. I am not looking to make a patch I am going to fix it. Any thoughts?
I will post pics when I get home...
Thank you in advance,
Jacob
