What country are you in? Might help with the ID. Any serial number or plate?

Re: Need help identifying this boat...

hmmmmmm.

im confused.

Im leaning toward home-made.....at least the cap.

The hull looks like it was extended....and the cap added...
The flair on the hull is very uncommon.....

it could be a European made boat.....but the big b=liner is throwing me off.

Welcome aboard.

Whatever it is, it's neat looking. I like the cabin entry. Plus, it's unusual to see a left helm.

Re: Need help identifying this boat...

Hi everyone, thanks for the warm welcome.

I couldn’t see a ‘Newbies introduction bit’ so I will put it here:
Hi I’m Ian, I’m 24 and from York, UK. I'm new to the boating world, having recently buying my first boat at the start of November from a local boat yard - she’s a Buckingham 20 Cabin Cruiser. I've only had her a couple of months, but absolutely love cruising up and down the River Ouse!:p

Anyway, a couple of weeks ago, I was browsing online looking at boats etc (as you do) and stumbled across this... At first I didn't really pay any attention to it, until I noticed it was located in York! And I then noticed that the seller was the guy how owns the boat yard which I've just purchased my Buckingham from!:D

And hence, I put in a bid, and won it!

Basically it needs everything sorting on it! (Just hope I've not bitten off more than I can chew here!)

The seller doesn't know anything about the boat, or its history, he basically sold it to recover outstanding storage debts. (I will try and ask him if I could possibly contact the previous owner - who I believe came into financial difficulties, and hence why it’s in this state! – He may not want to talk to me about it though)

I do know that it has recently been flooded inside by around a foot or so of rain water, and has since had 2 or 3 small holes drilled in the bottom of the hull to allow the rain water to drain out.:(

There are no markings / serial numbers or anything on the boat anywhere (that I have seen yet anyway - only seen it in person a couple of times, and both times it was chucking it down)

I will try and load a photo of the inside up (you maybe shocked though as it’s a mess!)

Thanks for all the help so far. :)

Do you get to keep the beer kegs it is blocked up on? Over on our side of the pond they charge a pretty hefty deposit on those things. Turn them in and you may find you got the boat for next to nothing.

Nah, they are included in the weekly charge (which is all paid up untill April anyway).

Plus theres LOADS of beer kegs kicking about all over... go to any scrap yard and your likely to see them!

Heres some photos of the inside... They show how bad she is!:facepalm:

If you look carefully, you can see the brown water mark.

Welcome!

That is the ever-popular Project Boat. :D

I really have no clue what it is, but I do recall seeing something very similar when I was a kid in the 70's. I know, not much help...

:D Another Yorkshireman. Welcome, nice little project but I'd leave the kegs, police usually get involved if you try to weigh them in.

Re: Need help identifying this boat...

Been down to the boat this afternoon. Chucked all the rubbish out of the cabin. Removed the moldy curtains, and started to clean bits of the moldy roof (inside).

Next time I go, I plan on sealing up a dozen or so screw holes in the roof, which are letting the rain in.

Didnt see any makes/models etc on the boat, so still no idea what she is! Anyone got any more thoughts? Would be nice to get an approx age too.

Dont worry, I dont plan on weighing them in! Just saying that they seem to be everywhere in the UK!;)

Re: Need help identifying this boat...

Been to the boat last couple of days. Finally starting to get somewhere now with the inside! However im currently full of cold which is slowing me down a bit (just hope its not due to all the mould etc from the boat :().

Next time I go I will take the camera down again and get some more pics.

Still not sure on the age / make / model of the boat. However I did speak to the boat yard owner, and hes going to try and have a look through his files and see if he can find anything etc. So.... Fingers Crossed! :)

Interesting looking project. What kind of power does it use?

OK, I've got to know. Can you please translate this into American (small words)?
