I scanned a bunch of posts to see if I could locate a source to identify the year of my 188hp mercruiser but couldn't find anything. I'm 99% sure that it's a Ford 302. I checked the "DougRussell" site but it just listed a range of years from 1971 - 1977 based on my ser#. Here is the serial number if anyone can help #3978085.<br /><br />Thanks,<br /><br />Kevin
