Last June I posted a question on how to identify an outdrive I had. (Here is the Post )

After four hurricanes  I think I'm actually ready to try and sell it! I have no clue as to what it is worth. I have gone online - ebay, etc - and have tried to find comparables, but I don't know enough about OMC's to know if mine is comparable to the few others I have seen. The outdrive is from a 24' 1977 Seawind. It has an eight cylinder Ford engine. The model number is 981105. (It is actually still atached to the boat and engine). I know it is an electric shift, and that's about it.

Can anyone give me a ballpark estimate of its worth or perhaps a website that gives me more info? (When I say "what it's worth" - I can hear it now - "It's a piece of junk and not worth anything!" :D . That may be true, but since they aren't made anymore, and are becoming harder to find, someone is bound to need one for parts or replacement. So far as I know it worked fine, it just hasn't been used in years).

They usually start out on Ebay for around $500. But since yours has been out of commission for a while, who knows.
