need help!! nicks in paint going all the way to primer

Hey All,
As some of you may or may not not know, I recently painted an alum jon. When I put the boat back on the trailer I noticed that the paint had gotten scratched all the way to the primer. This was not caused by the trailer but more by moving it around. I had blankets under the boat. What kind of product can I use as a top coat / clear coat to prevent this. It seems like everytime something bumps into the boat it nicks the paint to the primer. Thanks Guys.

What kind of paint did you use? You might be able to clear coat over it.

hey Bob VT,
I used Rustoleum. I did the roll and tip method. When these nicks and scrapes happen it only goes to the primer not to the metal.
