Need help with a asking price of a 1990 ranger 333v. It has good trailer, fish finders, trolling motor. Everything is in good working order. The kicker is that it has no outboard motor. The boat needs some tlc. Its not pretty. Needs to be wet sanded, buffed, and waxed to make it look good again. The seat and carpet are in great shape. I have looked at pricing through nada guide it has a low retail price of 1780.00 and average retail of 2030.00. Any thoughts would greatly be appreciated.

Thanks,

Problem is your selling at the wrong time of year. If you can, you might want to work on it over the winter and sell it in the spring when boating fever hits.

Off the top of my head I think those NADA values might at least be in the ballpark. If you want to get the most for it spend the winter making it look good again, otherwise expect to be low balled.

I did not think he was trying to sell us the boat but I can see how that could be construed as such. Personally, even when I traded my boat in I still cleaned and washed it. A nice clean and tidy boat will always command more cash,

Thanks for the replys. I was just trying to find out other peoples opinion.

I should have made it more clear in my post, but I am thinking about selling it not putting up for sale or trying to sell it on the forum, just getting opinions. The whole reason i asked was I don't think a boat is worth much without the motor...

Thanks again.

If I were considering that boat in that condition I would value it well under nada..... basically I would consider it salvage and expect it to be priced about the same as what the trailer alone would be worth...

You can buy 15-20 year old bass boats all day long for the price of the engine hanging on them.. IE buy engine, get boat, trailer, batts, fish finder, and trolling motor free....

I would say yes you are correct... not worth much..... Now If you can find a smoking deal on an older outboard you might make enough on it to justify a few hours of your labor buffing it out but if you are just looking to be rid of it. you should be able to get $500 even in the dead of winter and probably a bit more in the spring if you find someone who already has a motor.

Just my $0.02

While ranger is one the top brands for resale I agree $2k might be on the high side considering the pool of buyers willing to take on the issues AND have to get a motor for it is very limited.
