I am considering a yamaha 115 thats i think a 90 or 91 model 2 stroke it has a oil mixing unit and has set for about 2 years with very little use in that 2 years like maybe cranking a couple of times. I need to know what to look for other than the impeller and seals and such. I would like to know how to test the compression plugs in or out and what are the lowest #s to look for. The man who owned it was pretty good about keeping things up but im am not familiar with these engines what are some bad points to check and are there thermos on it? should they be changed too with the impeller and carb gaskets and cleaning.. Was the oiling system any good or should i chunk it and premix? Thanks for any help on what to expect and look for.

Re: Need help on checking out used Yamaha 115

I was hoping for a few replys by now im pressed for time to buy but maybe i was a bit long winded. I just really need to know if anybody knows what the high and low compression#s would be and if there were any problems with these 90 model motors. I know some motors are ok at 80+ psi but most are good at 110+ what should i look for on this one problem wise Thanks for any help.
